Magnesia brick intriduction

Magnesia brick's raw material is fused magnesia, its main crystallization is periclase and magnesia brick belongs to alkali refractory brick. There have two kind of magnesia brick, sintered magnesia brick and non-sintered magnesia brick. Sintered magnesia brick included silica bonded magnesia brick, direct bonded magnesia brick and rebonded magnesia brick.. Non-sintered magnesia brick contains chemical bonded magnesia brick and asphalt bonded magnesia brick.

Characteristics of magnesia brick

(1)magnesia brick with high thermal conductivity which just behind carbon brick and carborundum brick among refractory bricks. With the rise of temperature, magnesia brick's thermal conductivity goes down.To enhance magnesia brick's thermal shock resistance, the purity of magnesia brick should be improved.

(2)Strong alkali and iron oxide slag corrosion resistance but weak anti-acid corrosion resistance for magnesia brick. When using it, magnesia brick cannot touch silica brick directly and usually we sandwich neutral brick between magnesia brick and silica brick.

(3)Low electric conductivity under normal circumstances, but not under high temperature like 1500℃. if use the brick on EAF bottom, using it  with caution.

(4)Magnesia brick with characters of high refractoriness under load of 0.2Mpa.

(5)Poor water-proof resistance, brick easily has cracks and oxidation when touches water. So keep magnesia refractory brick away from moisture, rain and snow when store them in warehouse.

(6)magnesia brick with characters of good resistance of urgently heat and cold.

Mangnesia brick application 

   Magnesia brick mainly used for basic open hearth of lining and bottom part, oxygen converter's safety lining, smelting furnace, rotary cement kiln's wall and bottom and glass furnace's chamber for checker brick.
